I recently picked up the Moza R3 Bundle for PC, and while the journey started with a hiccup, it turned out to be a solid experience overall. Initially, there was an issue with the product shipment, but I really appreciate Cosmic Byte stepping in—they arranged an alternative courier which minimized further delays. I really appreciate the support.
The product arrived well-packaged and without any damage. Setting it up was surprisingly easy. Connecting the wires and mounting the wheel to my desk took minimal effort, which was a relief for someone like me who's new to sim racing.
As a casual gamer, this is my first experience with a racing wheel. I started testing it with Forza Horizon 5. While the initial feel was promising, I noticed some odd handling—especially when taking turns above 2nd gear, where the car would often spin out. Off-road sections also felt unpredictable, with the wheel randomly losing traction. After some digging and watching a few YouTube tutorials, I imported custom settings files for FH5 which is published in Moza website, and that made a significant difference. The driving experience became much smoother and more enjoyable.
I also tried the wheel with Forza Motorsport and F1 2023, and both games worked well without any major issues.
One downside from my personal experience is convenience. Compared to a controller, the wheel setup isn’t as plug-and-play. Since I don’t have enough space to keep it permanently mounted, setting it up and packing it away each time becomes a bit of a hassle. It’s something to consider if you’re short on desk space.
That said, after using it for a few days, I can confidently say I’m satisfied with the Moza R3. It’s a great fit for my casual weekend gaming sessions, and it’s made racing games a lot more immersive. If you're a beginner looking to dip your toes into sim racing, this bundle is definitely worth considering if you are not into serious sim racing. I feel for a beginner like me this is enough and anything higher would make me have to fight with the wheel to keep it steady.
